Stress at work is not an inevitability. Causes of work-related stress such as excessive job demands, lack of control over work and work-life balance, need to be incorporated into a risk management process and treated like any other workplace risks to protect workers’ health and wellbeing says Valentina Forastieri, Senior specialist on Occupational Health in the ILO’s Labour Administration, Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health Branch (LABADMIN/OSH).
